Lessons learned......... Union Classic

Boys team........ tied for 2nd with biggest region rivals Wasatch. Once again I was extremely proud of all of you putting everything you have out there. We know the lesson learned with the specific meet and well just keep that amongst the team. You all ran tough and I am very pleased with the outcome.

Union Classic

Congrats girls team! Another top finish. You all are improving each race and learning something about racing tactics each time you compete. This was a difficult course but everyone of you ran your guts off and came together in the end.

Tooele Invitational

Saturday was our first meet of the season. We traveled to Settlement canyon near Tooele. The course consisted of pavment, rocky horse trail, a river/creek, and 90' temperatures. The team overall ran very well. The day for us started with the JV boys. Skylar, Brenden, Derek, Dillon and Andrew. The Girls Jv followed, Lacey, Aysha and Jill got some experience and are looking forward to the next meet to keep improving times and reaching goals. Boys varsity took the line knowing that our biggest competition was going to be Wasatch High school. Wasatch is in our region. When the number stacked up we had edged out Wasatch by one point. Way to go boys! Kaleb was 8th overall and first from Carbon, Cody was 2nd, Luke was 3rd, Justin 4th, Aussie was 5th and Brock and Carson were 6th and 7th. The girls varsity was the last race of the day. Regan led the girls with an overall 2nd place finish, Sierra was 4th overall, Diana finished 8th overall barely missing a medaling spot, Karissa was 9th and Kayla was 11th. All five girls were in the top 15. They took home the first place trophy and well see what the season has in store.

Helper 5k 2009

The start was pretty crowded. The starter made sure the athletes that were serious about racing stepped to the front. After the race started the Carbon boys were leading the pack. Carson, Skylar, Kaleb and Brenden. At the finish Kaleb edged out a runner to finish 2nd overall, Skylar was 4th overall and Carson was 5th and Brenden ran a great race and a new pr. Luke, Justin, Isaac, Derek, and Cody had prior obligations. Good road race for them, both Skylar and Brenden had break through races today.

Helper Arts Festival 5k

Regan was first overall female, Kristen was 2nd overall, Kacylia was 3rd overall, Karissa was 5th, Sierra was 6th, Kayla was 7th, Jill ran a pr of 27:00 and Ashley was on Kaylas heels. We were missing Diana, Aysha and Erica. The girls ran really well. I cant wait to see how they do throughout the season.

High Altitude Running Camp......

Running, laughing, bras, campfire noises, smores.....smores....smores..... yummy food, dead horses, bathroom issues, squirrel noises, bating in the river, fishing, some more running......... good times at High altitude camp 2009 at Joes Valley.

The CCC trail. We called this our own CARBON CROSS COUNTRY TRAIL..... named after us. It was extremely steep and rocky however we found a dead horse and were able to get a two mile run in on it. Thanks to Lukes GPS!

Coach Allens boys..... Don, Dal and KADE! These were our cooks, entertainment, squirrel hunters, fire burners, and good company. Dal was brave to jump off the cliff into the lake. They enjoyed the CCC run when they got to see the dead horse on the trail (YUCK) and found arrow heads and lizards waiting for the athletes to come back. Quite the trail blazers. Don enjoys cooking and he does it well, we all loved all the food and ate tons!

Kayla and Karissa.........

Chillin out waiting for our yummy dinner!!!! Love DON!!!!

The boys and Sierra! Waiting to eat some dinner............

Cliff Jumping into Joes Valley

Entertainment after our CCC run and stumbling upon a dead horse. So much fun we went back on Saturday morning before we left to head home. Coach Allen even jumped and Brenden almost was convinced to do it. It was freezing cold but well worth it. Everyone even my nephew Dal jumped at one point or another.

High Altitude running camp.......

After 3 and half days of running we were loaded up and headed form home. We had ran 20 miles in those three days. Marys lake, Reeder canyon, marina back to camp, loops around Joes valley. We covered a lot of ground in three days.
